DAAC System Integrator, Check Point and F5 became the organizers of the annual conference “Information security 2016”
On Thursday, September 8, 2016, DAAC System Integrator in collaboration with Check Point and F5 organized the annual conference “Information security 2016”.
The conference was attended by more than 40 representatives of leading Moldovan companies from different economic sectors.
The event represented a unique opportunity for the participants to familiarize themselves with new information security solutions that were presented by Check Point and F5 and to learn about the importance of personal data protection and the economic incentives of cyber-attacks.
The first presenter was Alexei Strahov, representative of the National Center for Personal Data Protection of the Republic of Moldova. In his presentation, Alexei outlined the importance of personal data protection and familiarized the participants with the existing legislation that regulates personal data storage and processing rules.
Check Point speakers, Oleksandr Chubaruk and Oleksandr Rapp, presented the family of Check Point products SandBlast for protection against zero day attacks. Additionally, Check Point representatives provided an overview of the platform for workstations protection - Endpoint Security E80.64, presented solutions for protection of mobile devices and new version of R80 control system.
Andrei Sorochin, Chief Information Security Officer of DAAC System Integrator, suggested to address the issue of cyber-attacks from non-typical point of view: mainly, from the point of view of hackers. In his presentation, Andrei Sorochin reviewed the economic incentives that motivate hackers to launch attacks and described the nature of modern attacks. In conclusion of the presentation, Andrei outlined the measures that should be taken to change the current trends of attack.
Finalizing official part of the conference, Ruslan Melnyk, representative from F5, reviewed F5 product line and told about the possibilities to implement F5 solutions for different companies. Ruslan Melnyk introduced such topics as the analysis of encrypted traffic, DNS protection and implementation of SSO.
After the official part of the conference, the guests had the opportunity to participate in darts tournament and foosball competition, organized by Federation of Sport Kicker in Moldova. Thereafter, the reception took place and the guests in less formal atmosphere could address their questions to the speakers and could exchange opinions with colleagues.
